不是说很多种技术都要向微机电靠拢吗？比如传感器技术，当然还有光通信中的技术。

that is MEMS. microelectromachanical system.
it is a technology based on si(silicon) process. so far the widely used for the process of the devices in micrometer.
certainly, it is very useful in optical communication except others wide use such as optical switch, oadm, tunable laser and so on. in the future, MEMS can be conbined with biological or life science, so called bio-MEMS.
many relative devices have turned up and be used in biosensor.
acctually, biology and life science are very hot research area in abroad,but it is a pity that it does not be thought much in China. maybe this just is the gap.
